Care Philosophy
Regent Mental Health Group (RMHG) is a multidisciplinary, full-service mental health clinic dedicated tot he effective treatment of mental illness both acute and chronic as well as mild and severe. We are patient-focused and strive for cultural competence. We work towards remission (recovery) not just response. Strength-based, evidence-based, and family-focused are principles we value. We serve all the age groups and those with various diagnoses including, but not limited to: Mood disorders (manic-depression, bipolar disorder, depression), attention deficit disorders, tic disorders, panic, social anxiety, autism, asberger's syndrome, relationship issues and trauma. Historically, our clinic has existed for over thirty years and has had a child and family focus. We were pioneering the use of somatic therapies in younger patients before others. As parents noticed their children were improving they began to seek treatment as well. Now we see a balance of children, adolescents, and adults. Due to this approach we are often considered a tertiary referral source. Part of our mission includes remaining in the vanguard of exciting new evidence-based treatments. Patients are involved in research here only if they wish. Coordination, communication, and team work are just some of the values that guide our treatment. This is why we often involve a therapist and psychiatrist to more thoroughly address the patients' need. Treatment modalities include: individual therapy, family therapy, anger management, relationship therapy, group therapy and medication management. We strongly support consumer and family advocacy groups such as the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Wisconsin Family Ties, and self-help groups, to name a few. We work to alleviate the suffering induced by major mental illness. We strive to give comfort, support and hope. |
